How is ORPIB involved?

Blood donation is close to our hearts here, and after hosting a mobile blood drive last year at the Q Center, we knew we wanted to keep encouraging our community to participate! Bloodworks Northwest is the nonprofit organization managing the blood supply for nearly all of the local hospitals in the PNW. 

Here are two reasons why we're encouraging those in our community who are able to donate to do so:

Only 3% of the population donates regularly and that number dips even lower in the summer months. 

In 2023 the FDA finally made donating blood more inclusive and allowing more gay and bisexual men to donate, and all donors are asked the same questions instead of some being disqualified because of sexual orientation.
